TiddlyWiki 2.0

Posted by geetarista January 05, 2006

Today was the new release of TiddlyWiki 2.0! I went to the beta site today and it said this:

You don’t have permission to access /beta/ on this server.

Hmmm…I thought. They’ve been talking about releasing it for a while and the last beta was released… So earlier today I thought that it would come out today. Lo and behold, when I came back to my computer a while later, I refreshed, and there it was! I think it looks absolutely beautiful. I love the way it looks and feels. My only problem is that I can’t get it to work on Firefox, though it does work in Internet Explorer. So hopefully I’ll soon be able to figure that one out. I’m really excited about this because of the way it may affect the web. I think it could be a cool way to blog becuase Tiddlers could be used as posts. You could be able to use tags as categories/tags, open/close the posts that you want. The size overall would be extremely small, it would be very customizable, and it would be very functional! I think somehow with AJAX and technology like that of TiddlyWiki, we could see some very cool changes. For Wordpress, there is a theme that uses AJAX where you can open/close individual posts, collapse them, etc. Although I don’t know too much about all the code, I think that these new improvements will have great impacts for the future.

Next Action

I found a cool little app over at Trimpath called Next Action. It’s a way to organize your ToDo list, projects, etc. It’s based on AJAX and you can download it to your computer and take it with you. Check out the demo.
