Space Imaging

Posted by geetarista October 27, 2005

There is a really cool website called Space Imaging that allows you to view photos of satellite imagery. It’s nice because you can see monuments, major cities, major events, and other sites of interest from an aerial view. They even have imagery from 9/11 and from the recent hurricanes.

Stickies

StickiesI’ve been using a cool little program for a little while that helps me out a lot. I don’t remember how I found it, but it’s one of the best programs that I have on my computer. The little program is called Stickies, and it is an electronic alternative to Post-it notes. You can use it to place little notes on your desktop to remind you of things you need to do, organize your thoughts, or whatever else you might come up with. It is very customizable, and it has many functions that make it a very useful tool. I use it a lot for my work and also for my own personal use. Check it out!

Link Buttons

I’ve been looking for a long time how to get little buttons like I have on the bottom of my sidebar. I searched the internet and tried everything I could but, alas, to no avail. I recently did finally find out how to get them though. They are called 80 x 15 buttons. They are nice little graphics to use as links to things I use or other things that may have to do with the website. One good place to find them is Steal These Buttons, where you can search and find buttons ready to go. Another website is called Web Badges / Buttons.  Or, if you want to make your own, you can go to Brilliant Button Maker and build a button that suits your own needs. I also found some Wordpress css buttons as well. I like them because they’re small, attractive, and they pique interest.

I found a really funny animated gif today. It is the entire Star Wars episode IV (cut down a little) as an animated gif.

Catholic Church and the Bible

Posted by geetarista October 06, 2005

Today I found an interesting article called: Catholic Church no longer swears by truth of the Bible. Looks like they are just going to give up on scriptures that they don’t understand and say that they are untrue. What’s the difference between this and the Jehovah’s Witnesses scratching out scriptures out of their Bible? The Catholic church has always been strict about the truth of the Bible. What’s the deal now?
